“Vote for me and I'll treat you to the movies!” Sebastian tried to bribe me, looking anxious.

Feliciano quickly cut in: “Vote for me and we'll go eat pasta!” he promised and, in order to convince me, rapidly nodded his head multiple times.

“Vote for me and I'll take you dancing!” Lovino hastily joined, kind of panicked because of his cunning brothers.

“Well, _____, which Vargas is the champion of this flirting contest?” Elizabeta seemingly casually asked me.

“I vote for...”

“I vote for....”

“Yes?” Elizabeta asked.

“I vote for Sebastian...” I finally mumbled.

“YES!” Sebastian celebrated by fistpumping the air. “I knew it! I'm the best!” he shouted thrilled.

“So, the winner of this flirting contest is Sebastian!” Elizabeta announced in an excited manner. “Let's all give a loud applause to him!”. The crowd was already cheering but, following Elizabeta's instructions, raised the volume.

In the meantime, Sebastian took one of my hands in both his and looked at me straight in the eyes. “I'm a lucky guy! I not only won this contest, but I also get to have a date with you!” he winked at me. “Can you meet me at the mall tomorrow at seven?” he asked.

“Yes” I replied.

Sebastian grinned. “Perfetto!”

The next day, I put on my favorite outfit and a little make-up and headed to the mall. It was exactly seven o' clock when I got there and I was quite surprised to see Sebastian waiting for me: I was afraid, somewhat conceited Sebastian would have forgotten about our date. Yet, he was there, grinning at me and holding a red rose.

“Ciao, bella _____!” he greeted me, offering me the flower.

“Oh, thank you so much!” I said with a wide smile, taking it. “How are you?” I asked.

“Fine, fine!” he answered. “You look very beautiful today!” he told me. “Well, you're beautiful every day, but today you're exceptionally pretty!” he added and momentarily raised his eyebrows playfully.

“Thanks...” I said, blushing.

“How are you?” he asked.

“I thought I was "exceptionally pretty today" ” I answered pretending to be confused.

He smiled widely. “Yes, you are.” he confirmed. “But, I was wondering over your health.”

I smiled: He was showing genuine interest over my well-being by subtly repeating his question. “I'm well” I only replied.

“Nice” he said smiling back and started walking slowly, leading us towards the ticket booth. “Now, do you have any preference on what movie to watch? I took a look at the choices there are before I got here. There wasn't anything of particular interest for me.” he said.

“I like adventurous comedies” I told him. “ "Men in Black", "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", ...” I trailed. I didn't lie, but I did try to meet him halfway: Even though, I prefered romantic movies, I would occationally enjoy comedies too, but I had so many times checked his facebook account that I had learnt it by heart: Adventurous blow-ups were the only things he seemed to watch.

“I thought you liked romantic stuff” he replied.

It seems someone else also investigated facebook profiles...

“I mean... All girls seem to like movies like "The Notebook" and "Twilight" ” he added.

Aw! He is trying to deny he ever researched over me.

“I like those, too!” I told him excitedly.

Why is he asking? Is he willing to... ?

There was a pause and then, he made our decision: “Well, then, let's go watch an adventurous comedy! Let's get tickets for that movie with... Jackie Chan!”

I mentally pouted.

Had he researched over me only to see if our movie interests match? He just didn't want to spend two hours watching a chick flick? Hmmm, I guess he has every right to not want to... He is the one who's paying for both of us, after all...

And then I glanced at the flower in my hand.

Sebastian and I arrived at the ticket booth and he started talking with the cashier, while taking out his wallet.

I was too bored to follow their conversation, so, I glanced around a little. And then I saw... Lovino and Bella were standing in line to get popcorn and refreshments. This was a date for sure. Bella had linked an arm with Lovino and was vigorously talking to him and he was nodding back at her, grinning.

At that moment, Sebastian turned around and took hold of my hand. “All set!” he said and started walking again, dragging me just enough for me to take the hint and follow him.

“What's going on?” I asked Sebastian pointing towards Lovino and Bella, more to let him know that his brother was on a date rather than really expecting he knew what was happening.

“They're on a date.” he simply answered, shrugging indifferently.

“They're together?!” I exclaimed. “But, then, she shouldn't be chosen to judge a contest round, should she?” I asked incredulously.

“No, they're not.” Sebastian replied calmly. “Lovino was really angry yesterday and told me that he'd take revenge by making Bella who voted for me, fall for him, but to be honest, I thought he liked her for a while, now.” he said. “So, he asked her out” he added.

“That's nice...” I only said. I decided to not let Sebastian know that Bella hadn't voted for him.

What if he starts wondering who was the girl that voted for him and starts asking around? I got what I wanted: He is here with me, now. No need to stir things.

“Yes, he was finally given the chance he needed to pursue her without making it too obvious to me and Feli.” Sebastian chuckled.

We stood in line for popcorn as well and Sebastian asked me: “What would you like?”

“You paid for the tickets, allow me to pay here” I told him.

“No, no” he replied smiling widely. “This is my treat, remember?”

“Okay, then” I answered. “I'll have a small portion of nachos with cheese and a large coke”

“Anything my pretty girl wants!” he said with a grin and winked at me.

I blushed when I noticed the word “my”.

We took our cold drinks and plastic food and headed for the theater. We sat down and I left my nachos in the empty seat next to me, saving them for later. Just as I was about to sit straight again, I felt Sebastian hugging me. I almost jumped at the realization and turned to look at him. He kissed me so quickly that I registered the kiss on my lips, before registering how close his face was to mine.

Still leaning towards me, holding me and keeping his eyes locked with mine, he smirked. “I hope you're having as much fun as I, bella!” he said.

I didn't know what to answer. It was so sudden! I just smiled back widely, my eyes were sparkling for sure, and nodded vigorously twice.

He kissed me again - such a good kisser! - and turned to look at the screen, laying back in his seat, still hugging me.

I noticed then, that while I was putting the nachos away, he had raised the divider of our seats. He was obviously enjoying our date. I decided to take the plunge and I lied back too, but not in my seat: I lied back in his embrace. He tightened his hold on me and pecked on my hair. I danced mentally. I would gladly watch Jean Claude Van Damme, the next “Rocky” even, if I got to watch it like this!

A little later, the “coming soon” ads came to an end and the lights went completely out for the movie to begin. I have to admit that I wasn't paying much attention to the movie: My mind was elsewhere. But, I ended up laughing out loud a lot. To be honest, it had more to do with the way I was watching the movie, rather than actually watching it and finding it particularly funny: A few times during the movie he pecked on my hair again and after a point, he started slightly caressing my arm with his thumb. Thank God, there was no intermission to ruin the mood. I didn't even retrieve my nachos, because I was enjoying our cuddling too much. I mean, who cares about some stupid nachos?

When the movie ended we got up and headed towards the exit. While standing in the middle of the crowd again, waiting to abandon the theatre, Sebastian smiled cutely at me, placed his hand on the back of my neck while leaning towards me and we kissed. I could feel him smirking against my lips. Under normal circumstances, I'd be annoyed, having someone smirking at me, but in this case, it only made me smirk back.

When we got out of the theatre, he took hold of my hand and we walked to the exit of the mall.

“I'll escort you home” he informed me.

“Alright. This way.” I answered and I nodded towards the direction of my house.

The walk to my house was pleasant, the conversation was balanced, we both got to talk about ourselves and find out stuff about the other.

We walked very slowly, as if we didn't want to ever reach our destination. But, unfortunately, at some point we got in front of the garden of my home.

“Goodnight, Sebastian!” I told him. “I had a very nice evening.” I said with a wide smile.

“Goodnight, _____!” he answered and kissed my forehead.

I got confused. My forehead? But, I nonetheless nodded and turned to open the iron gate of my house.

And suddenly, unexpectedly, I felt two arms wrap around me, as he pressed his body on mine. His head was next to mine, I could feel his breath on my ear.

“Wait” he whispered with a husky, sensual voice. “What time tomorrow?”

“Seven?” I asked unsure, dazed.

“I'll be here at seven, then” he said and pecked the side of my neck and released me.

It took me a second to regain my senses and turn around to look at him. He was smiling – not smirking – and I felt safe somehow.

“Goodnight, bella!” he told me and winked at me once more.

“Goodnight” I only replied in a low voice and turned to open the gate again.

He waited for me to get inside the house to make sure I'd be okay. I opened the door and we looked at each other one last time and he waved at me smiling. I smiled back widely, blew him a kiss and entered my home.
